At Charleston the sponsored lunches I went to were not at the conference hotels - they were at local restaurants.

I would say, however that the prices the hotel is quoting are very high. $50+ 23% gratuity for a lunch is not reasonable. I do think in the future we should seriously look at moving forward without F&B contracts if these are the prices being charged.

Perhaps the other conferences are large enough to be able to negotiate lower menu prices, but this is directly from the hotel, so I don't know how they are managing to make it so low and not lose money in the process.

Ok, thanks, Anna. I was referring to meal cost for a paid sponsored session (lunch). Nicole mentioned that what they pay elsewhere is $35/person, so this is really high in comparison. FWIW.
