NISO Plus 2025 in Baltimore is just a few weeks away! Our meeting program includes three timely, collaborative pre-conferences (February 10) focused on generating ideas for solutions to challenges in the information community, including ethical use of AI and assessing the value of open access content. Tickets are very affordable, starting at just $99 for the half-day sessions!
Artificial Intelligence in Scholarship and Research (February 10, 8:30 am–12:00 pm) will not only take a deep dive into the latest AI tools used in scholarly communications, but also advance the conversation around their responsible use. The pre-conference begins with technical experts from across the industry exploring the products currently in use in the community. Attendees will then use the ARL/CNI Artificial Intelligence Scenarios to identify opportunities for libraries, publishers, vendors, and researchers to develop best practices and standards around the development, use, and evaluation of AI tools.
Assessing OA eBook Usage (1:00 pm–5:00 pm) will address a pressing problem in scholarly communications: the need for a shared, community-developed set of guidelines and best practices for judging the performance of open access monographs. Led by representatives from libraries, publishers, aggregators, and more, speakers will work with participants to explore solutions and identify areas for collaboration.
JATS-Con (9:00 am–5:00 pm), the user conference for the Journal Article Tag Suite standard, will also be held as a full-day pre-conference adjacent to NISO Plus. Attend this full day of presentation and discussion to get the latest on JATS and its most recent revision as well as new use cases involving multilingual documents, making content more accessible, and more.
