Hello,
A colleague came to me because their close friend was duped by a journal that had a similar name to a very prestigious journal. They had a research paper accepted and published by this journal. They are up for tenure and don't know what to do.
I'm hoping some of you working at research institutions can provide me with some advice to share with these researchers because you may have come across this before. (I have heard about it but haven't experienced in within the context of working at a community
college.)
Can they resubmit their article to a different legit journal?
It's the culmination of three years of cancer research so they are understandably gutted.
Is there any way they can block the citation in the dodgy journal from showing up. (Luckily, it doesn't show up in Google Scholar or Web of Science.)
Thank you for any help you can give me.
